The meeting came to order at 7:05 PM, those present were
Susan Landreth, Marvin Rensing, Evert Lehman, Bob Landreth, Bob Johnessee, Sally
Bruckert, Marian
Whitfield, and Pat Canaday. Bill
Wilkinson called- excused absence.
Sally made the motion to accept the secretary’s report as submitted by Bob Johnessee, seconded by Pat. Motion passed.
Bob Johnessee made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report, seconded by Evert. Motion passed.
Bob Johnessee submitted a letter to the mayor to
approve the appointment of Orland Snedeker to the board.
Librarian’s report. The construction grant was recommended, we are waiting for the final approval. Susan was encouraged to spend $200 a month for new books. Marian authorized to subscribe to the Alton Telegraph, motion made by Bob Johnessee and seconded by Sally.
Susan asked Charlie Buse to give her information and cost
of a Fish Fry as a fundraiser.
Pat will get information and cost estimates for a cookbook
to be used as a fundraiser.
Committee report by Bob Johnessee regarding the trip on
October 1 with Susan to the Il Library in Springfield, expenses were submitted.
Bob also stated jars for donations have been placed in local businesses.
Old business, the unsold earrings are to be returned.
New business, Bob Landreth resigned verbally, this will be his last meeting.
Plans were made to have all board members to be at
the Library Thursday, October l2, at 1:30 p.m. to have a picture taken by the
fund raising thermometer.
Bob made the motion to adjourn at 8:15 PM, seconded by Marvin, motion passed.
